Every dollar makes a difference! Please take a few minutes to go online and form a Team or make a donation
We hope that you will be able to join us to enjoy the inflatable rides, face-painting, a photo booth, lunch and more at this fun-filled event. If you are unable to join us, you may still donate to the Walk or elect to be a sponsor for the Walk to support Oklahoma families affected with bleeding disorders.
Invite your family, friends and co-workers to join your team or encourage them to create their own team to help us meet our goal! If someone you know has already created a team, join their team and support them.
Please spread the word through Facebook, Twitter and other Social media sites as we walk to create for a better world for Oklahoma families affected with bleeding disorders.
Bleeding disorders are serious disorders that prevent the blood from clotting properly. The inability to properly clot can lead to internal bleeding and joint damage. Hemophilia and von Willebrand disease are the most common bleeding disorders, for which there is treatment, but no cure.
People with bleeding disorders can live relatively normal lives, but must continually be proactive in preventing bleeds. Many people treat prophylactically, which means they infuse the missing clotting protein directly into a vein 3-4 times a week to prevent bleeds. This is not only painful, but very costly. Hemophilia treatment can cost over $250,000 a year, and even exceed $1 million per year, should complications arise.
We hope to see you at our 7th Annual Walk!
